How To Contribute To The Magazine

At Goldsmiths we are the make up of a multiplicity of persons who embody a wide range of differing philosophies, interests, art forms, personalities, religions, cultures and more.

This complexity demands SMITHS, the home and voice for every Goldsmiths student, to provide a field for the battle of thought, for challenges to representation, for the struggle of ideas and the general 'wording up' of whatever 'it' may be concerning you.

SMITHS captures the entirety of this expression by utilizing a range of mediums. Through a magazine, and now a website, students can converse and express not only through the written word, but also video, audio, photography, animation, illustration and more- How ever you want to put 'it' out there SMITHS can host it.

How it works...

SMITHS is not an exclusive bunch of contributors. It thrives on an openness which desires every kind of contribution from every kind of Goldsmiths student.

Website: features those more fleeting pieces that nevertheless capture the immediacy of our 24-hour-a-day dialogue.

Magazine: Features pieces of enduring importance. Those articles that do not have a use by date. For example, an article reviewing the Notting Hill Carnival would not be printed now.

Events: Parties, concerts or even small DIY teach-ins where we socialize, celebrate our diversity and maybe learn something.

So, all you writers, designers, film makers, promoters, hedonists and humanitarians get into SMITHS.
