Spring-Summer trends: New Nautical

‘My jacket was inspired by Vogue (November edition), where various designers suggested ways of customising your own clothes. Roksanda Ilincic suggested taking a plain coloured blazer and buying a completely different type but similar colour of material and making different sized bows and sewing them in a descending order onto the jacket or blazer. I've also taken off the boring buttons that the jacket originally had and I've replaced them with odd ones, but colours that I think really bring out the blue velvet of the blazer. I really, really enjoyed doing this!’ We used Zoe’s blue velvet jacket, with its opulent ribbon detail to create a new take on the classic nautical trend that returns every spring/summer. Instead of brass buttons and Breton stripes, we chose to work with this season’s chic white trend, leather shorts (inspired by the likes of Chloe & Alexander Wang) and tough military boots.
