Sorry Joe I Did What They Told Me
Crikey, last night’s chart upset that saw veteran rockers Rage Against the Machine swipe the Christmas Number One spot from X-Factor’s boy wonder has sparked a vicious battle of wit versus teenage pig-headedness on Facebook. Here we bring you some of the choicest gems circulating on the Joe McElderry message boards at the moment.
Beware, the grammar and spelling that follows is not for the faint-hearted.
“Really hope Joe wins. We can show those RATM fans, what real passionate and beautiful music sounds like. Rather than the manufactured rubbish which these silly rock bands release year after year.”
“Rage against the machine have been out since like 1992 and noones really heard of them til end of 2009 shows there shite.”
“Hmm, we’ll see where these Rage guys are in a month”
In reply to a poster who patiently explained that Rage had been releasing music since before Joe was born and were actually, contrary to popular belief, very famous: “Just because you want them to beat joe doesn’t mean you should make up lies about them in order to make them look good.”
“I never said that he (Joe) deserved to be the Xmas no1 just because he won the X factor. I think he deserved to win as the lyrics are great, his vocals are fantastic therefore making it a worthy of a no1!! But does that mean that you are telling me that a song that was purely created just to stop the X Factor winner from getting to no1 deserves to win??”
“i find it sad that an american band has to resort to attacking the uk and its justce system (x factor) in order to crack the top 50. why not get a promoter if youre releasing a single. that must suck”
“RATM only won because you lot did exactly what you said you wouldn’t. Sheep. So the talentless fuckwitts win because people that haven’t even heard the shit song bought it to stop Cowell getting XFactor number 1. Awesome. The fact the Joe has more talent in one arm than those idiots have in the whole band didn’t come into it.
Roll on a long successful career to Joe who will never fade into the background”
And finally;
“RATM didnt even get past the audition stages.”
Case closed.
