ISEFF 2010
2. - 4. March, 2010. Ian Gullard Lecture Theatre.
Goldsmiths’ International Student Ethnographic Film Festival (ISEFF) first took place in 2008, when a small group of Goldsmiths Anthropology and Media students felt the necessity to establish a creative platform from which students could exhibit their work and share their passion.
By doing so they were able to make student ethnographic films accessible to a wider public, as well as creating a launching pad for new filmmakers. Their goal was to raise awareness on the growing importance and usage of ethnographic films as a tool in anthropology, which allows for diverse and interesting ways of expressing fieldwork.
Following on from these initial ideas, a new and engaged group from the Anthropology Society at Goldsmiths have taken over. As there are not many international festivals catering to student ethnographic filmmakers, we are proud to be able to provide this valuable space within Goldsmiths. A space in which students can view and exhibit ethnographic films, start collaborations, generate new ideas, and discuss the future of visual anthropology.
This year's speaker are Marc Isaacs, Michael Yorke, John Hutnyk and Ricardo Greene.
Photographic exhibition presents works by Ambra Galleotti, H?vard Fossum and Kyna Gourley.
The film program can be found at http://www.iseff.co.uk/programme.
